Ohene is a product of Talka Technologies, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, USA (Sheridan, Wyoming). Ohene was founded by a team with roots in Accra, Ghana. Ohene is a Personal Memory Intelligence application available on iOS.

Ohene is local-first by architecture, not by promise. Your memories live on your device in a private database. The intelligence that reads them runs on your device too, using Apple's on-device language model where available and Ohene's own pattern engine where not.
On the free tier, nothing leaves your device. Not your memory text. Not your photos. Not your name. Not a single byte. Our servers will refuse the request before any data could be transmitted.
The following data is stored only on your device, never on our servers:
Ohene Pro adds AI features that genuinely require generation beyond what runs on-device. When you use one of these features, a relevant excerpt of your text is sent over encrypted HTTPS to Anthropic's Claude API, routed through our own Cloudflare Worker proxy at ohene-proxy.adarkwayiadom.workers.dev.

Each of these Pro features displays an in-app notice the first time you use it, naming Anthropic and explaining what is sent. You can choose to use only the local-only features and never transmit anything.
To enforce subscription tiers and prevent abuse of our API, Ohene generates a random per-install identifier (a UUID) when you first launch the app. This identifier is stored in your device's Keychain and is sent as a header to our Cloudflare worker on every Pro-tier API call.
This identifier is not paired with your name, email, or any other personal information. It is used only for rate limiting and tier verification. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to track you across other apps or websites.
Ohene supports optional iCloud sync through Apple's CloudKit. Sync is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, your memories are stored in your own private iCloud database, accessible only by you and only on devices signed in to your iCloud account. Talka Technologies does not have access to your iCloud database.
If you turn iCloud sync off, the database falls back to local-only storage on the current device.
Ohene reads State of Mind entries from Apple Health, with your permission, to soften the editorial register on emotionally heavy weeks. This is a read-only integration. Ohene never writes to Health, never transmits Health data off your device, and never uses Health data for marketing.
You can revoke Health access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Ohene.
Ohene Pro subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment information. Apple processes payments and provides us with a receipt to verify your subscription status. Your billing information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
If you attach photos to memories, those photos are stored locally on your device only. They are compressed before storage. Photos are never sent to any server. Ohene performs no image recognition, no facial analysis, and no vision-model inference of any kind on your photos.
If you enable app lock, Ohene uses Apple's Local Authentication framework (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode) to protect access. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never accessible to Ohene or Talka Technologies.
Ohene's on-device data is encrypted at three layers:
Ohene does not track you. There are no third-party advertising SDKs in the app. There are no analytics services that profile across apps or websites. There is no IDFA collection. We will never present an "Ask App Not to Track" prompt because there is nothing to track.
Ohene is rated 17+ and is intended for adults reflecting on their own lives. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Your memories are stored on your device for as long as you use the app. If you delete the app, all locally-stored data is permanently removed.
If you have iCloud sync enabled, your memories also live in your private iCloud database. To delete those, sign in to iCloud.com, open Settings → Manage Storage, and remove the Ohene container.
We have no copy of your memories on our servers, so there is no central record for us to delete.
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, most traditional data rights requests (access, deletion, portability) are fulfilled by simply using or deleting the app itself.
